At Building Dreams Ranch, we have a "Pay it Forward" philosophy. We believe that no child should be denied services or help because of insufficient funds and we offer our programs for free. In return, we ask them to spend some of their time giving back to Building Dreams Ranch. A few examples would be weeding, mending fences, cleaning tack, planting a garden, etc.
From the Ground Up-Our Unique Blend
Horses have no expectations and do not judge so we are able to “practice” boundaries and development without fearing rejection. Our behavior and emotions significantly influence the horses’ behavior. Horses are a truly instinctual animal and are good human lie detectors. We may be able to mask from others what we are truly feeling but we cannot hide behind these masks with horses. They react to what we show and what we try to keep inside, away from others.
Our mission at Building Dreams Ranch is not to turn out horseback riders but to, more importantly, help children heal and work through their pain and, in that process, they will learn to ride. Through a variety of activities such as cleaning tack, grooming and riding, children will naturally develop relationship skills, trust, and faith.
