Our Story
Building Dreams Ranch is a culmination of two dreams that began in 2002. After 5 years of preparing, Dacia Heaton and Brandy Rotter met, and Building Dreams Ranch began to develop.
Dacia’s volunteering with equine therapy programs strengthened her desire to have a ranch where at-risk youth would come to restore their faith and develop abilities to live stronger, healthier lives. As a teacher, she felt restricted by educational standards and wanted to find a better way to improve the lives of children. She knew the bond with horses could build faith and trust in a child that was hurting. With a deep passion to help hurting children and her trust in the Lord, it was only a matter or time before the ranch would become a reality.
Brandy’s heart for abused and neglected
children began early in life due to similar
experiences. In time, she saw that
so many children painfully suffer due to
abuse inflicted by others. Realizing not only
do these children need a safe haven, they
need a place to feel loved and reassured
that they do not deserve this type of life.
With a strong desire to
restore these
broken lives, she decided to
open a
ranch that provided
multiple
therapies to children who need
to rebuild their faith and hope in life,
and
all that God meant it to be.
